Al Baraka Bank Successfully Conducts Blanket Drive 2024

In response to the severe challenges faced by the homeless and other disadvantaged members of society during South Africa’s harsh Winter months, Al Baraka Bank has completed its annual Blanket Drive for 2024. This year, in collaboration with several esteemed NGOs, the bank distributed around 750 blankets to those in need.

The distribution took place across three major cities:

• Cape Town: Partnering with Gift of the Givers, 250 blankets were handed out to vulnerable individuals.
• Johannesburg: In collaboration with Saabiree Chisty, another 250 blankets were distributed to those in dire need of warmth and comfort.
• Durban: Working alongside Al Ansaar and Human Aid, the bank successfully provided 250 blankets to the homeless and underprivileged in the region

Fathima Mohamed, CSR Officer for Al Baraka Bank, stated, “We are deeply committed to supporting our communities, especially during the harsh Winter months. This year’s Blanket Drive has allowed us to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. We are grateful for the partnerships with Gift of the Givers, Saabiree Chisty, and Al Ansaar and Human Aid, which were crucial in reaching out to the most vulnerable members of our society.”

Through this initiative, Al Baraka Bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and uplifting disadvantaged communities during the Winter season. The Blanket Drive 2024 exemplified the bank’s dedication to social responsibility and community service, ensuring that hundreds of individuals received much-needed relief from the cold.
